January 23, 2019 2 min read

Did you know that some of your favourite houseplants can clean toxins out of the air? Find out more about how green friends purify your home!

Plants and people have had a long history together from agricultural crops to therapeutic applications. In 1989, NASA conducted a study to see the effects of low gravity on plants and their ability to remove toxins from the air in hopes of purifying future space habitats.

Aside from eliminating carbon dioxide (CO2) the researchers also discovered that some plants were efficient in removing benzene, Trichloroethylene (TCE) and formaldehyde from indoor air. You can read the complete study online.
